We are the So Cal Renegades, a Renegade roller derby team based out of Long Beach, California. We are a non-profit, skater run team that is proud to play by our motto: “Any time, anywhere, any surface.” As a member of the Renegade League, we play a no holds barred, full contact version of roller derby without penalties. We are an all-inclusive team that encourages people of all skill levels to join our family. As part of a nationwide grassroots effort to revive the sport of roller derby, So Cal also aims to give back to the community through charitable contributions and good old fashioned roller derby entertainment. The Renegade league was initially formed in 2004 by our sisters in Arizona. Since then, the Renegade love has spread all over the country, with teams throughout Southern California, Oregon, Arizona, and even several states along the East Coast. The league prides itself on being a skater run operation led by strong women that truly love the sport of roller derby. The Renegade mission is to ultimately provide women the opportunity to be a part of a team that contributes to personal fitness, building self-confidence, and establishing lasting relationships. While we may be a little different from some of the rules-based leagues out there, we will always love and support all forms of roller derby.
